Federated Names New CEO, CFO

Federated officials announce that Jeffrey Fetters, the current president and chief operating officer of Owatonna-based Federated Insurance Companies, has been appointed to be the company’s new chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2009, succeeding current CEO Al Annexstad.
Al Annexstad, who is voluntarily relinquishing his role as CEO, will remain as the Chairman of Federated’s board of directors, a position he has held since May 2000.
The announcement of Fetter’s promotion to CEO comes just eight months after Fetters was named the company’s president. As CEO, Fetters will be responsible for all of Federated’s property and casualty and life and health insurance operations.
Also effective January 1, 2009, Jerry Meilahn will relinquish the chief financial officer position to Gregory J. Stroik. Meilahn will remain a Federated director, as well as the company’s secretary and treasurer.
