Federated seeks highly motivated individuals with suitable experience, academic records, abilities, and skills. Character, professionalism, integrity, and work ethic are traits we look for in future Federated employees. We invest considerable time and resources to recruit, screen and select the right people to help sustain the culture that has allowed us to effectively serve our clients for the past 100+ years.

Our hiring process is a two-way street. Besides assessing you as a match for our position, we provide information to help you decide whether Federated is well-suited for you. We invite you to evaluate us with the same care we use to evaluate you.
When you submit a résumé or application:
- We will review your qualifications and experiences to determine if you might be a match for the specific position you referenced or for other positions that may be open in the future.
- We will retain your résumé or application for a period of time and consider it as new openings occur in our organization.
If we determine that you may be well-suited for one or more of our positions:
- We may contact you to conduct a screening interview by phone or on campus. During this conversation, we will ask you more about your past experiences, goals, skills, and interests, or
- We may file your résumé and wait to conduct a phone interview at a time when we are actively trying to fill a position that appears to be a possible match for you.
After the phone interview:
- You may be invited to meet with us to go through a more in-depth assessment.
- You may complete some employment tests during your visit that have been designed and validated to help predict success in certain positions.
- Depending on the position, we may begin to conduct some of the background screening.
- You may be interviewed by one of our hiring managers. This will be a behavior-based interview where we ask you questions about your behavior in specific types of situations.
Prior to extending a job offer:
- We will contact previous employers and other references.
- You may have an opportunity to job shadow the position.
- You may be asked to return for a second or third interview with other hiring managers.
- We will complete a criminal background check.
- We will do additional background checks as needed.
After offer has been accepted:
- If you accept our job offer, you must successfully pass our drug test prior to your first day of employment.
Our process may take several weeks to complete depending on the hire date and the number of candidates we are considering. If you are curious about your status at any time in the process, we encourage you to contact the Federated representative with whom you are interacting.
