Claims representatives work closely with clients, physicians, attorneys, contractors, auto body repair operations, and others. They are trained to be prompt, fair, and courteous in handling claims.

Federated helps provide knowledge and experience for new claims representatives through classroom work, discussion of policies and procedures, and on-the-job training. Claims representatives are encouraged to continue self-development through self-study courses and achieving professional designations such as Associate in Claims (AIC) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Federated pays exam fees and awards cash bonuses for completion of most insurance-related courses. Federated employees also have Company support for individual self-development activities.
