Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer


Nicholas Lower is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federated Insurance Companies.

An Ohio native, Nick began his Federated career as a marketing representative following graduation from Muskingum University in 1999. He held all marketing management positions and oversaw the company’s Association Risk Management Services (ARMS), Marketing Incentives, and Marketing Administration Departments prior to joining the Executive Staff in 2017. In 2018 he was named Chair of Federated’s Operations Team, and since that time he has steadily assumed greater responsibility for the company’s Field Services, Public Affairs and Advertising, Underwriting, Granite Re, Life Operations, Learning Center, Agency Operations, P&C Support Services, Information Services, Claims, Actuarial Services, and Human Resources functions. Upon becoming Chairman in 2025, Federated’s Financial, Office and Physical Services, Business Continuity, Legal, and Compliance functions moved under his direct leadership as well.

  • January 2025: Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
