In the Community

The Federated Challenge was formed in 2005 and has raised more than $57 million to support the youth mentoring and educational programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in Minnesota and most recently, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

This event not only benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters, it also helps endow the Federated Challenge Scholarship Program, which provides financial support to qualified Littles or high school Bigs enrolled in a non-four-year program focusing on apprenticeship, certificate, trade school, technical, or community college.

Federated employees represent 120+ Bigs who are making a difference in the life of a child; they plan and participate in the Federated Challenge each year, all to help give back to our youth.

We are also passionate in supporting the United Way. Since 2007, Federated and their employees have collectively donated $4.9 million to local United Way organizations.

In addition, we offer a gift matching program to our employees with the opportunity to direct corporate charitable dollars to qualifying non-profit organizations and higher education institutions that they personally support. Employees contribute approximately $100,000 to non-profits throughout the country by utilizing this program.
